Nobel Peace Prize winner and Yazidi activist Nadia Murad met with President Trump on July 17 and appealed for his help to save the Yazidis of Iraq. The documentary "On Her Shoulders", relates the horrors that the Yazidi people were subjected to, after ISIS forces invaded their villages in 2014---the mass murder of boys, men, and older women, the systematic rape and enslavement of girls and younger women. The documentary movingly depicts Nadia Murad's extraordinary bravery and determination to shake the world's conscience into acknowledging the genocide against her people, and to bring the ISIS militants who committed these crimes against humanity to justice in the Hague.

-Nadia Murad: "ISIS murdered my mother and six brothers" -Donald Trump: "And you had the Nobel Prize. For what reason?"

When President Trump this week met human rights activist Nadia Murad, an Iraqi who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2018 for speaking out about her agonizing torture and rape while in Islamic State captivity, he seemed unaware of her story and the plight of her Yazidi ethnic minority.
